Blaan is one of the 110 indigenous peoples group in the Philippines that has been suffering from marginalization and near extinction.

 

The Philippine Blaan Academy is a non-profit secondary school that highly integrates indigenous knowledge system in the regular academic curriculum. It will emphasize Blaan language and tradition in its curriculum and will have supplementary courses on culture, history, stories, dances, songs, chants, musical instruments and traditional skills. The vision of the school is to prepare and empower the future Blaan leaders in a rapid-changing time while enjoying a great sense of cultural identity, dignity and voice.
